Does every item need to be linked to a category?
No. Items do not need to be linked to a category to be placed on transactions.
However, it is very important to note that each item must be associated with at least one supplier in order to appear as a selectable database item when creating a new transaction unless you select the permission "Don't associate database items with suppliers". To select that option, navigate to "Manage Branch" and "Branch Profile" and select the applicable option below.
