A “distribution address” is mainly used for orders that need to be internally distributed to a number of different locations. Distribution addresses are particularly useful for use with requisitions. When multiple requisitions are amalgamated into a single transaction, and the delivery for that transaction is received, the item quantities that are received can be allocated to the different distribution addresses that are established on the system.
Please note that in order to use the distribution option, items will need to be set up as stock items first. You can do this by navigating to the "Items" tab on the left hand side. There is an option to search for a specific item using the "search" option. There is also a "More Actions" button that will allow you to "add listed items to stock". This is particularly useful for filtering items from a particular supplier or item category. Alternatively, there is a little tag icon as shown below that will allow you to add that item to stock individually.
Once you have set up your stock items, you will then have the opportunity to place the items into inventory using the field shown below.
A “delivery address” is used on all forms that are shared with suppliers to indicate to the supplier where to send the goods and/or services included in the transaction. Delivery addresses are also referred to as the “ship to” address.
