What is the difference between the approver and the alternate approvers?

Every approval rule in Tradogram must have at least one main approver. You can also assign alternate approvers to ensure approvals are not delayed if the main approver is unavailable.

Main Approver

  • Required for every approval rule.

  • Receives approval requests and notifications by default.

  • Has full authority to approve or reject transactions.

Alternate Approvers

  • Can act on behalf of the main approver.

  • Up to 5 alternate approvers can be assigned per approval rule.

  • Have the same authority as the main approver.

  • Do not receive alerts by default.

If there is an alternate approver on an approval rule, it will appear on a transaction like the image below. If you hover over others, you will see a list of the alternate approvers.

Notifying Alternate Approvers

If you’d like alternates to also receive alerts:

  1. Go to Manage Branch > Approvals.

  2. Add or edit an approval rule.

  3. Click Add Alternate Approver.

  4. Select the Notify option next to the alternate approver’s name.

This ensures alternates receive notifications alongside the main approver, helping to expedite the approval process.
